Community Investment Committee (CIC)

While serving on the Community Investment Committee (CIC) is a large task we know that it is a rewarding one for our volunteers. Through the CIC community members get to have a one-on-one experience with the programs requesting United Way funding.  Also, through the CIC volunteers get a real sense of how donated dollars help our community grow.

The CIC is a volunteer group made up of approximately 50 community members who are charged with reviewing assigned grant applications from local nonprofit organizations, visiting assigned local nonprofit organizations, and helping to determine funding for assigned local nonprofits.  Being a CIC volunteer requires one (1 hour) training session, 3-4 hours to review assigned grant applications, 3 or 4 (1 hour) visits to assigned nonprofits, and 1 or more meetings to discuss funding with your assigned panel.
